The volume of published content has stopped being a competitive advantage. Anyone can generate 2,000 words on any topic in under a minute, and search results are saturated with exactly that. What now separates content that ranks from content that does not is whether it contains anything the reader could not have got elsewhere.
That means research, specifics, real numbers, actual experience and a point of view. It also means being willing to say something is a bad idea, which generic content never does because it is written to offend nobody.
Intent mapping comes before writing
The most common content failure is not quality — it is format mismatch. A commercial keyword gets a blog post when the SERP is showing service pages. An informational keyword gets a sales page when the SERP is showing guides. The content can be excellent and it will still not rank, because it is the wrong type of page for the query.
We read the SERP before writing anything. What page types rank, what the content depth actually is, what sub-questions get answered, what the AI Overview cites. That determines the format, the length and the structure — not a word count target pulled from a competitor average.
Writing for E-E-A-T
Experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness are assessed largely through signals a writer controls. In practice that means:
- Named authors with real credentials, linked to a genuine author page and to their professional profiles. Content attributed to "Admin" or to the company name carries measurably less weight in YMYL topics.
- First-hand specifics. "In our experience across UK eCommerce clients, faceted navigation is the most common cause of index bloat" beats "index bloat can be caused by many factors".
- Citations to primary sources — official documentation, published research, regulatory guidance — rather than to other blog posts.
- Honest limitations. Saying what an approach does not do builds more trust than claiming it does everything.
- Visible maintenance. Last-updated dates that reflect genuine revision, not a scheduled timestamp bump.
Writing to be cited by AI answers
An increasing share of research now happens inside AI assistants and AI Overviews rather than in blue links. Being cited there is a related but distinct discipline from ranking, and it responds to specific structural choices.
- Answer first. A direct, extractable answer in the opening sentences of each section. Models lift passages, and a passage that buries the answer under three paragraphs of preamble does not get lifted.
- Clean definitional sentences. "An SMM panel is a reseller platform that..." is quotable. "When it comes to SMM panels, there are many things to consider" is not.
- Structured comparisons. Tables and clearly parallel lists get extracted far more readily than the same information in prose.
- Original data. Numbers that exist nowhere else give a model a reason to cite you specifically rather than any of forty equivalent pages.
- Consistent entity signals. The same business name, description and details everywhere, so the model can resolve who you are.
One note on schema: FAQPage rich results were retired in mid-2026. FAQ content still has real value for users and for AI extraction, but it should be built for readers rather than for a rich result that no longer appears.
UK English, properly
UK content written with US spelling and US framing reads as outsourced, and it splits your keyword targeting across two variant sets. We write in British English throughout — optimisation, specialise, analyse, centre, programme, licence as a noun and license as a verb — and use UK conventions for dates, currency, measurements and address formats.
It goes beyond spelling. UK examples, UK regulatory context, GBP pricing, and awareness that Scottish law differs from English and Welsh law on anything touching property, employment or contracts. Content that gets these wrong loses credibility with exactly the reader you were trying to convince.

How we work
- 1 Read the SERP Establish the page type, depth and sub-questions that actually rank before deciding the format.
- 2 Brief properly Structure, entities, questions and sources agreed before writing. Most weak content is a briefing failure, not a writing failure.
- 3 Write with specifics Real numbers, real examples, a genuine position. Generic content is invisible now.
- 4 Structure for extraction Answer-first sections, clean definitions, tables where comparison is involved.
- 5 Review and consolidate Underperforming pages get refreshed or merged. Publishing more on top of a weak library makes the library worse.
